  • EARLY LEARNING - INCLUSION SUPPORT EDUCATOR

The applicant must have a passion for working with young children, and a strong interest in joining our growing community at King’s Christian College. This role supports the inclusion and participation of children with additional needs within our program, helping them thrive socially, emotionally, and developmentally.

This position is a term time contract position - 5 hours per day at our Pimpama Campus.

We have 2 positions available:

  • 5 days per week
  • 3 days per week - Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

Criteria:

  • Experience supporting children with high needs, including those with a diagnosed or suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder, is preferred.
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or working towards)
  • An understanding of the QKLG, EYLF, NQF and NQS
  • Current working with Children Check (Blue Card)
  • Patience, calmness and consistency in approach to behaviour and communication are essential.
  • Ability to follow individualised support strategies and work closely with lead educators.
  • Strong team orientation with clear and positive communication.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in inclusive practices and child development.
  • Be committed to fostering the relationship between Primary and Early Learning Educators.

Your curriculum vitae should include details for;

  • at least 2 recent professional referees (including your current employer)
  • at least 1 referee who can attest to your suitability to work within the values and culture of an expanding Christian school (preferably from a pastor or minister).


ABOUT OUR COLLEGE

King’s is an expanding, multi-Campus school that places paramount importance on the development of the whole child, with a particular focus on providing every student the opportunity to develop Christian Leadership skills that will prepare them for their future. Our programs challenge and shape students’ thinking and understanding of their role in the world.

Our College currently consists of 3 dynamic campuses, with several more campuses in the planning stages, serving the communities in which they are located.

The REEDY CREEK CAMPUS (on the southern end of the Gold Coast) has more than 2300 students on-site, from Early Learning through to Year 12. This campus also includes a Trade Training College.

Our PIMPAMA CAMPUS (on the northern end of the Gold Coast) currently has over 1200 students on-site, from Early Learning to Year 11 in 2023 (with Year Year 12 in 2024).

King’s LOGAN VILLAGE CAMPUS (in south-west Logan) offers places for students from Early Learning through to Year 6 in 2023 (and High School opening in 2024).
